The largest International Dark Sky Sanctuary in the world

Darkness, like fresh water, is a limited resource, and it takes a lot to preserve it. The Fremont-Winema National Forest is a signatory on the OOIDSS, the Oregon Outback International Dark Sky Sanctuary. It's received a decent amount of press coverage since launching;
-those are likely to increase during Summer of 2024, starting around June 6. The real feeding frenzy will happen around new moons, probably June 6th and July 5th.
